Doncaster September 1962 > LPIS STM BW NEGS 0128

On a sunny September 8th 1962, a series of photographs were taken at Doncaster station. The trains were severely disrupted by an accident the previous evening at Offord involving A1 60123 ‘H.A. Ivatt’.

More photographs will be added to this collection soon.

Gresley A4 60010 'Dominion of Canada' acclerates away from Doncaster with a Leeds to King's Cross train sometime in the afternoon/evening. The engine had worked to Leeds with the 1N02 04:00 King's Cross to Leeds train earlier in the day, but given the chaos surrounding the diversions, it's return to London seems to have been delayed. Given the shadows the best guess is that this is the afternoon 1E13 Leeds to King's Cross service.
